1.02 How To Create A Request For Quote
Creating Request for Quotes
- Now that you have created your "Buyer's" profile it is time to begin creating RFQs (Request for Quotes).
- Begin by logging in to your "Buyer's" profile.
- Once logged in you will be brought to the dashboard of your profile.
- On the dashboard your RFQs will be listed under "My RFQs."
- Next to "My RFQs" you can click "Add New" to create a new RFQ.
- Please note that you may only upload one RFQ per one part at a time, so if you have three parts please create three RFQs.
- First you will need to select the type of material you would like to use for your parts.
- If you are unsure of what type of material is most suitable for your parts head over to our Manufacturing Encyclopedia: http://newtronmfg.com/manufacturing-knowledge-center
- Step 2 you will decide whether you want quotes from our shops domestically or offshore.
- This is to ensure you get the best combination of quality and pricing.
- In step 3 specify what you would like to get quotes for, whether it is for 3D Printing, Machining, or Design & Engineering Services.
- Now in step 4 let us know if this is for standard production of parts or if you want to manufacture prototypes.
- Step 5 requires you to specify the type of manufacturing service you need.
- We understand if you are unsure what service you require. For assistance you can head over to our Manufacturing Encyclopedia http://newtronmfg.com/manufacturing-knowledge-center.
- Once you have selected the type of manufacturing service your parts require, it is time to select the finish of your part in step 6.
- If you do not need services requiring Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), PCB Design, or Electronic Components & Devices Services please disregard step 7.
- Once you have completed step 1 - step 6 it is time to upload your files in step 8.
- Please upload your 3D files in either PARASOLID, STEP, IGS, or STL format.
- Do not fret over which one you should upload, just note that the STEP file format is the most commonly used type when manufacturing parts.
- If you would like a more detailed explanation of what these files are please click this link http://newtronmfg.com/buyer-support/1.
- Next please upload any 2D files
- This includes drawings that call out overall dimensions, tolerances, tapping or threading, and finishing.
- You are almost done! Once you have uploaded your files please let us know when you need these items by, the name of your parts, a description, and the quantity you require.
- Please upload your 3D files in either PARASOLID, STEP, IGS, or STL format.
- Now we only need a little more information from you. In step 9 we need to know where we will be sending the completed parts and your preferred form of payment.
- Please specify if the "Buyer" or "Supplier" will be paying for the shipping.
- Select the shipping service that you want.
- If the "Buyer" (You) are paying for the shipping please enter your UPS or FedEx Account Number.
- Also let us know if the shipping and billing addresses are the same so we don't run into any confusion.
- Please specify if the "Buyer" or "Supplier" will be paying for the shipping.
